Health Improvement Alliance Committee Structure

 The actual work of the HIA occurs through working committees. All HIA members are encouraged, and ELC members are expected, to serve as Chairs and Members in standing and ad hoc subcommittees. The committee Chair is responsible for ensuring an active communication and feedback loop with the ELC and full alliance. The three standing committees include Communication & Marketing, Data, Analytics & Grants and Operations, as well as any Ad Hoc subcommittees which the ELC may create. The functions of each committee specifically include:

Communication & Marketing
  • Responsible for the outward image of the HIA and maintaining the alliance website.
  • Meets every two months
  • Chair: Beckie Lies, St. Joseph County Purdue Extension
Data, Analytics & Grants
  • Responsible for identifying and obtaining health data for our community and searching out possible funding sources to meet community needs.
  • Meets monthly
  • Chair: Cassy White, Beacon Health System
Operations
  • Responsible for the HIA full alliance meeting agenda, logistics, and confirming speakers.
  • Meets monthly
  • Chair: Robin Vida, St. Joseph County Department of Health
Advocacy & Legislative Affairs Ad Hoc Subcommittee
  • Responsible for educating members about public health in St. Joseph County and advocating for public health in Indiana.
  • Meets regularly
  • Co-Chairs: Cynthia Heckman-Davis & Gail Mancini, Community Members
